A History of Dedication
The Paediatric Association of Tanzania (PAT) was established in 1980 to unite paediatric professionals across the country in their commitment to improving child health outcomes. For over four decades, PAT has grown into a respected institution that shapes paediatric care policy and practice nationwide.
PAT has become the leading voice for paediatric care in Tanzania, advocating for policies that benefit children, providing continuing medical education to healthcare workers, and fostering research that addresses local health challenges.
Today, PAT represents hundreds of members from various disciplines of paediatric medicine, including general paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric surgery, and other subspecialties, all working together for the health of Tanzania's children through its mission to promote and enhance the practice, study, and advocacy of paediatrics and child health across Tanzania.
